Spode Studios Open day & more events!

We are very excited this year! Only 4 months into 2017 and there are a number of awesome events lined up already from maker events to networking and tech interest there a number of cool things going on around Stoke-On-Trent this year!


1. MakeFest Stoke, 31st May Hanley Library

A event aimed at showing the public, local schools and hobbyist the different technologies around and the people behind them, as well as giving people an insight into technology it also gives them the chance to see it first hand and up close. So if your looking at getting into technology, want to experience something cool, or learn something new make sure to visit!

The Maker movement is gathering momentum both in the UK and internationally, and we know that there are hundreds of creative people in the local area who are contributing to this in their own unique ways.

Makefest Stoke-on-Trent will bring together the best that the city has to offer in terms of technology, engineering, science and creative art; it will be an exhibition and celebration of projects and ideas, both large and small, that are happening in and around Stoke-on-Trent.

The event is going to be held at the S-O-T city library in Hanley  on Wednesday 31st May, so make sure to book the date in your calendar!

1. Spode(TM) Studios Open Day, April 9th, Spode Works

This incredible event is to showcase the artist & creatives businesses based in the Spode works studios based within the actual historical spode(TM) site. The open studio day means all the studio holder will open their doors to the public allowing them to view the space in which they work and the work they do. Its a fun-packed day with on the day workshops and demonstrations taking place throughout the day.

Its an amazing community with a large variety of businesses, including: oil painters, glass artist, experimental painters, Eco artists, ceramics mold makers, ceramic artists, Terrain makers, software developers and robotics (that’s us).

3. Stoke Tec Meetup, Monthly event

There are a number of tech ‘meetups’ across the UK and now there’s one in Stoke! With its first event held on the 29th April and over 35 members its a technology networking event you can’t miss. The aim of a meetup ( is to arrange networking/meeting for groups of like minded people, its free to attend and any one can join up! It couldn’t get better than that.
